ROACHDALE -- Local volleyball coaches voted at the Putnam County Volleyball tournament and named six girls to the All-County team. Those named were Cloverdale's Breegan Andersen, Stacia Shepard and Bradanne Toney; North Putnam's Megan Robinson and Samantha Lucas; and South Putnam's Emily Dabkowski.
Andersen is a three-year letter winner in volleyball and has been a defensive specialist, setter, libero and team captain during her volleyball career. She was a member of the 2007 sectional championship team as a freshman and is known as the Clovers' go-to player for passing and digging. She is a two-year letter winner in basketball and a three-year letter winner in softball. She played on the 2009 sectional softball championship team. She is Cloverdale's homecoming queen, an ambassador and student council president. Andersen is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, FCA, Spanish club and DePauw Alpha program member.
Shepherd is senior who will be a two-year letter winner in volleyball and has been a setter and outside hitter in her volleyball career. She is one of Cloverdale's team captains and leads the team in set assists. She is a member of FCA, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish club, ambassador and student council member.
Toney is a sophomore at Cloverdale who will be a two-year letter winner in volleyball and has been a middle hitter during her volleyball career. She is one of the team's captains and leads the team in kills and blocks. She is a one-year letter winner in softball. Toney is a member of the student council, FCA and an ambassador.
Robinson, a North Putnam senior, is a three-year middle hitter for volleyball, two-year cross-country, three-year basketball and four-year track letterman. She is a member of the All-American Team for all sports lettered. She is in the running to be valedictorian for the class of 2011.
A North Putnam sophomore, Lucas will be a two-year volleyball letterman and is a middle hitter for the Cougars. Lucas was a track regional finalist in shot put her freshman year.
Dabkowski, a South Putnam senior, is a former setter turned outside hitter. She is in the middle of her third year on varsity. She is also a two-year letter winner in basketball and softball. Midway through the current season, Dabkowski is leading the Eagles in points and digs and is second in both kills and aces.
All-County selections were voted on by North Putnam head coach Jill Schreiber, Cloverdale head coach Kathy Moore, South Putnam head coach Lindsey Blackman and Greencastle head coach Liz Spencer.
