Florence Irene Rissler

­Florence Irene Rissler, 81, of Charleston, passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 at her home.

Florence was born Aug. 20, 1929 in Reelsville, the daughter of John Roy Diel and Ruby (Moss) Diel.

She married Harlan Dale Rissler on July 6, 1947 at the Reelsville Baptist Church. He preceded her into Heaven Dec. 5, 2008.

Surviving are their children, Cheri (Larry) Cooper of Charleston, Brad (Debbie) Rissler of Argenta, Ill., and Debbie Smith of Charleston; one brother, Charles Edward Diel of Reelsville, as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Florence was a member of First Baptist Church of Charleston, and the Ladies Bridge Group at the Charleston Country Club. She also played bridge with friends at the Charleston Public Library. She had worked at Reasor's Decorating, which she and Harlan purchased and renamed Rissler's Decorating, and in earlier years had worked at Thorsen Electric and Eisner's. Florence was an excellent cook and loved to play games of any kind. She was a fun person to be around, and took a lot of pride in her family.

Her graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery near Reelsville with Pastor Pat Murphy officiating.

Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at First Baptist Church, 2800 University Drive in Charleston.

There will be no visitation.
