Library to host Antique Appraisal Roadshow
The second annual Antique Appraisal Roadshow will be at the Putnam County Public Library from 1 to 3 p.m. this Saturday.
The roadshow will include visits from guest appraisers, including John Sabol and Bill Kranz of Dan Ripley's Antique Helper in Indianapolis. Sabol, a licensed auctioneer, oversees the internet and shipping services as vice president of operations at Antique Helper. Bill Kranz has a Jurist Doctorate, is a licensed auctioneer and has been in the antique business for 35 years. He has been a cataloguer and appraiser at Antique Helper. He focuses on furniture, porcelain and Americana items.
Sabol and Kranz will be appraising items that patrons bring in for $10 and $5 for each additional item. No appointment is needed to attend. If items are too large to bring into the library, patrons can bring a photograph. All proceeds from the appraisals will benefit the Putnam County Public Library.
The Friends of the Putnam County Public Library are organizing the event. The Friends of the Library book sale will be going on at the same time as the event in the basement of the library.
The book sale is open daily during library hours.
