N. Putnam volleyball falls to Danville

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

The North Putnam volleyball team battled Danville Monday, coming up short 25-20, 25-20 and 25-5.

"The first two games were great," head coach Jill Schreiber said. "We played well, we had good passes, sets and hits. We played as a team and were confident going into the games. I was so proud of the girls tonight and their efforts, everything was going well. We actually played like we can. We were going after every ball, blocking and playing good defense."

However, things changed in the third game.

"The third game, I'm not sure what went wrong," she said. "No one player stood out to playing bad, we all played bad during the third game. I'm not sure how you can go from playing great to forgetting how to play. Nothing went as planned. It seemed like we came out and just lost our spark. Not sure how to explain this turn of games.

"However, I hope the girls from the first two games come back to play tomorrow night. They looked great," Schreiber said.
