Theodore W. 'Ted' Jarrett

Theodore W. "Ted" Jarrett, 79, of Greencastle passed away on Oct. 10, 2010.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1931 in Portland Mills to William Roy Jarrett and Lucille Corder Jarrett.

Ted served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a retired brick mason.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Sharon L. Miller Jarrett; daughters, Teresa L. Reitzel and husband Donald, Darla K. Neville and husband Donald, Brenda S. Nauman and husband Billy and Linda G. Jarrett and companion Doug; a brother, Ronald D. Jarrett; four sisters, Pauline Jarrett, Ruby Butler, Joyce Thompson and Sharon Jean Lager and husband Chris; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

His parents, a nephew Gregory Alan Jarrett and a brother Carl "Bud" Jarrett preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
