Clarence Arthur 'Art' Cooper Jr.

Clarence Arthur "Art" Cooper, Jr., 85, of Greencastle passed away on Oct. 10, 2010.

He was born on Jan. 16, 1925 in Putnamville to Clarence A. Cooper, Sr. and Violet Mae Alexander.

Art was a graduate of Greencastle High School and served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and retired from Lone Star Industries with 43 years of service. He and his wife had been active in the Friendly Squares.

Surviving are his children Joe Cooper and wife Lisa of Greencastle and Terrie Stone and husband Steve of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Sue Brown and husband Bill of Brownsburg and a brother, Bob Cooper and wife Marie of Brownsburg; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty Jean Cooper and a brother Bill Cooper.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Forest Hill Cemetery with Pastor Wes Kendall officiating.
