Ernest M. (Ernie) Flaherty, 74, passed away on Oct. 26, 2010.
He was born in Indianapolis on June 27, 1936 to Erwin J. and Beulah M. (Gordon) Flaherty.
He was the youngest of five brothers. Ernest joined the U.S. Army serving his country in Korea. After his assignment, he returned and worked at BHT Company, and then the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for the Rainbow Branch and Park Fletcher Branch before retiring in 1991.
He married Patricia L. Parks. They had six children. Ernie's retirement job and hobby was attending auctions.
He is survived by his children, Michael Flaherty, Tammy Diehl (Michael), Crystal Young (Bradley); his brother Elmer K. Flaherty; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
His wife Patricia, daughters Theresa, Cynthia and Ann, as well as his brothers Ralph, Lawrence and Erwin have preceded him in death.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Epperson Cemetery in Barnard.
