GREENCASTLE -- The Putnam County Museum will have an opening reception of an art show featuring father and daughter artists David and Jennifer Herrold at 7 p.m. Nov. 11.

David Herrold, a retired DePauw University ceramics professor, has used his talent and skills in various media over the years, including wood, photography and digital media. Currently, David enjoys working from two studios, wood and ceramics, in Greencastle.

He is going to showcase his wooden furniture and functional and decorative pottery sculptures in the museum's exhibit, which will also feature David's daughter, Jennifer Herrold's art.

Jennifer Herrold
Jennifer Herrold is a painter/designer who enjoys telling stories through her colorful paintings, illustrations and murals. Her art has been exhibited in various galleries across the county.

"I generally do not paint to match the couch, but if it happens to, all the better," she said of her work.

Her website, www.jenniferherrold.com, has more information about her art, upcoming shows and products.

Are they really from Greencastle/Putnam County or DePauw move-ins?

I went to school with Jennifer's older brother Ryan here in Greencastle. They are from Putnam County and are good people.

Hazel, are you saying that only people born in Putnam County can be considered "Putnam Countians"? Really? My daughter moved here when she was 2 days old -- does that count?

I went to school with Jen. She has always been a sweet and artistic person. I always knew she would do something with it! Her family has always been great! Proud of you guys!

Hazel, we all moved here from somewhere. Does 34 years count?

The Herrolds are great people(and some of my favorite customers at Chief's)...who cares if they are "really from Greencastle/Putnam County or DePauw move-in's". I've lived in this community for over 20 years now and I am still considered an "outsider" by many (and so are our children who where all born here!)...SHAME on those of you who think this way! Congrats Mr.& Mrs. Herrold and Jen, of course...so proud to see such great people recognized in our community!
