RUSSELLVILLE -- Kathryn Jenkins Elliott, co-pastor of the Russellville Community Church, will be ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ at 3 p.m. Nov. 13.

Elliott became a Commissioned Minister of Family Life in October of 2001. She and her husband, the Rev. James Elliott, have been co-pastors of the Russellville Community Church for 4 1/2 years, and previously shared duties for six years at Salem (Heusler) United Church of Christ in Evansville.

Elliott graduated from Trinity Lutheran Seminary (ELCA) in Columbus, Ohio, in 2001 with a master of arts in lay ministry. She has taken additional coursework at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis and Chicago Theological Seminary in Chicago.

Her undergraduate training was at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated with a bachelor of music in vocal education and taught music in Ohio for 14 years.

The Elliotts are the parents of two North Putnam High School students, Richard and Cheyanne.

The public is invited to attend the service of ordination, which will include the traditional "laying on of hands" by clergy who are present.

Call the church office at 435-2623 to inform them of your intention to attend. There will be a light supper served following the service.
