To the Editor:

I must say I feel truly blessed!

I give the glory to God for the wonderful turnout at the Halloween Fun Run held on Oct. 30 at the Greencastle City Park!

Mother Nature was nice to us as well -- it was a bit chilly with blue skies, but at least it wasn't raining!

I have several people I would like to thank, starting with my best friend, my wonderful husband Russell Howard. He stood beside me and supported me 100 percent throughout all of the planning.

Next, a great big thank you to Rod Weinschenk and Troy Scott at the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department. Your support and hard work paid off. You guys are awesome!

I would like to thank Jessica Hartman for her moral support, graphic designs of the registration forms and for all the wonderful picture taking. You rock, girl!

Thank you to Cami Hopper for coming and jumping in where needed, and my water table and cheering group: Corrine and Gillian Jones, my children Ryder and Savannah Howard, Sierra Torr, Masey and Levi Ward, Lauren Hopper, Lucas Nevins and Courtney Horton. Thank you to the Greencastle City Police for their help.

Jamie Barrand at the Banner Graphic brought tears to my eyes with the wonderful article she placed in the Banner. My heart is still smiling! Thank you for the advertisement and wonderful words!

Thank you to the following business who donated prizes for the event: McDonald's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Extreme Tan, Fit for Life Fitness Center, Wal-Mart, Monicals, Arby's, West Central Contracting, Cloverdale Auto Sales, Long John Silvers, Family Video, Chicago's Pizza, Curves, Butlers LP Gas, Kroger and Bright Futures.

I want to give a special thank you to my running buddies: Courtney Grant, Colleen Summerlot, Bobby Hopper, Alison Dobbs, and Kasey Hayes. I love all you very much! Thank you for the continued growth of our friendship and fitness! Jogging just isn't the same with out you!

I want to give a great big hug to my family. I am so thankful to have you in my life. We are a close family and I'm proud and so happy. Some of you worked and some of you walked. Thanks for being here for me! I love you!

Thank you to everyone who participated! I'm already looking forward to the 2011 Halloween Fun Run.
