POLAND -- On Friday, officials released the names of the victims involved in a single-vehicle accident in rural Clay County Thursday.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Department, David B. Allen, 29, Greencastle, and Lee P. Wade, 18, Cloverdale, were both ejected from a pickup truck when it apparently went off the road, struck a tree and rolled over on Poland/Bowling Green Road at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Clay County Deputy Coroner Amy Solomon pronounced Allen dead at the scene from his injuries, while Wade was airlifted by LifeLine to Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Officials withheld the names of the victims Thursday night pending notification of families.

Other agencies assisting at the scene included Indiana State Police, Clay County Search and Rescue, Poland and Bowling Green volunteer fire departments and TransCare.

The accident remains under investigation and drug and alcohol test results are still pending.
