After a hard battle with cancer, Betty E. Blue, 57, passed away peacefully at her home in Greencastle on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010.

Betty was born in Vermillion County on April 5, 1953 and was the daughter of Mary Doris Mishler (Blacketer) and the late Ernest Richard Mishler. She was a 1971 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Betty was married to Jonathan Blue in Greencastle on July 31, 1971.

She had been employed at Wal-Mart Distribution for 11 years after retiring from Marsh Supermarkets, where she had 25 years of service.

Betty touched the lives of so many people with her smile and generosity.

She enjoyed life to the fullest and was loved by so many.

With her love for family and quilting, Betty was one of the Quilters-3, which consisted of her and her two sisters, Mary and Patty.

Survivors include two children, Heather Keil and husband Jeff Keil of Greencastle and Jon David Blue of Chicago; five sisters, Patty Hine, Sue Terrell, Mary Vermillion, Jean Stout and Eileen Mishler; three brothers, John Mishler, Ed Mishler and Martin Mishler; two grandchildren, Josh and Shelby Bonebrake; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 404 Judson Drive, Greencastle. The Rev. Paul Bowen will officiate.

The family requests all donations be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and be mailed to Heather Keil, 3057 W. C.R. 425S, Greencastle, IN 46135.
