John Fields

John Lavern Fields was born May 21, 1938 in Williamsport, Pa.

He passed from this life on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010.

Surviving is his wife Betty (Baker) Fields. Also surviving are their children, Debra (husband Larry Smith) of Pennsylvania, Diane (husband Clay Begley) of Kentucky, and David (wife Wanda) of Indiana; grandchildren Nicole and Rebecca Smith, Danielle and Jonathon Fields; great-grandchildren, Kayce, Liam, Kendall, Carlee and Joshua.

Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Norma Baker and niece Earlene (husband Charles Bailey).

He also leaves behind his close friends and his special caregiver "Bear."

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, James, Donald and Theodore Fields.

John (Jack) Fields graduated Canton High School in 1956. He graduated technical courses for his work.

He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a signalman until 1958, North Penn Telephone Co. until 1979 and retired from TDS TELECOM in 2000.

He died at home surrounded by his family.

John's wish is to be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at a later time by his family and friends.
