Mr. Charles "Chuck" F. May, 64, Bainbridge, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at Hickory Creek at Sunset healthcare.

Born May 26, 1946 in Greencastle, he was the son of Charles F. and Audrey M. (York) May. He was a 1966 graduate of Greencastle High School. He married Anne I. (Hunter) May on Aug. 2, 1986 and she survives.

Chuck had been a correctional officer with the Putnamville Correctional Center for over 26 years. He had previously owned and operated the Monon Grill, Greencastle, and worked several years for Jackson's Restaurant, Greencastle.

He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the American Legion, Greencastle.

Survivors include his wife; mother; children Angela (Greg) May Green of Noblesville, Becky (Sander) May Vandenhoven of Indianapolis, Brian (Valerie) Fisher of Columbus, Leanne Fisher of Wisconsin and Susan (Robert) Fisher of Roachdale; a brother, Richard D. (Tina) May of E. Peoria, Ill.; two sisters, B. Darlene (Steve) Wilson of Greencastle and C. Deann (Clark) Atkins of Westfield; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew, Andrew May.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Davies officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
