Robert George Oeding, age 91 of Brazil died at 2:27 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at Meadows Manor East in Terre Haute.

He was born March 13, 1919 in Vigo County as the son of Albert and Margaret Bosler Oeding. Following graduation from high school he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Margaret Walter who has preceded him in death. He worked as a farmer until retirement. He also worked as a school bus driver for the Clay Community School Corporation for 32 years. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and a member of American Legion Post 2.

He is survived by sons, Robert Oeding Jr. (Maureen) of Corona de Mar, Calif., John Oeding (Brenda) of Brazil and Paul Oeding (Ann) of Rossville, Ill.; daughters, Patricia Redenbarger (Philip) of Centerpoint, Jeanne Howard (Billy) of Brazil and Anne Birkemeier (Gary) of Reelsville; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Richard Oeding (Betty) of Metairie, La. and William Oeding of Terre Haute and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Oeding; sister, Ethel Kohmescher; and brother, James Oeding.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Brazil.
