Willard L. "Cork" Robinson

Willard L. "Cork" Robinson, 86, Belle Union, passed away on Jan. 7, 2011 at the Mill Pond Health Campus at Greencastle. He was born on May 9, 1924 in Fordsville, Kentucky and was the son of the late Herbert and Alma (Shane) Robinson.

He was married to Johnnie L. (Wilson) Robinson on May 5, 1951 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 2004. He was a member of the Cloverdale Church of Christ and had served as a Boy Scout Leader at Belle Union and a Coach for the Belle Union Little League. He was a retired Quality Control Manager for IBM at Greencastle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He is survived by his children, Pamela Loftis and husband Don, Madison, TN, Robert L. Robinson and wife Tami, Cloverdale, James W. Robinson and wife Krista, Danville and Thomas P. Robinson, Elm City, NC, 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Carlene Taylor and Lola Simmons.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale with Bro. Don Loftis officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery.
