Greencastle wins WCC

Greencastle wrestler Jesse Vermillion slides into position to get a thrilling overtime win over Cascade's Justin Helmick. Vermillion won the match 7-5.

CLOVERDALE -- The Greencastle wrestling team had five individual champions en route to its second straight West Central Conference championship Saturday. On the day, Cloverdale came in third, with North Putnam finishing fourth and South Putnam fifth.

In all, 10 individual champions represented Putnam County. Those named champions were:

103 -- Tyler Ruble (North Putnam)

112 -- Shawn Shipp (Cloverdale)

119 -- Jeremy Boldman (Cloverdale)

135 -- Kody Collins (Greencastle)

145 -- Donnie Helterbrand (Cloverdale)

152 -- Carter Lewis (Greencastle)

160 -- Matt Hall (Cloverdale)

171 -- Nikko Hayden (Greencastle)

215 -- Jesse Vermillion (Greencastle)

285 -- Will Mobley (Greencastle)
