Warren "Troy" Scoggan

Warren "Troy" Scoggan, 45, Fillmore died Dec. 26, 2010. He was born Feb. 9, 1965, and resided in California for 31 years.

He graduated since Sonora High School and Fullerton College, Calif. and attended new Horizons Computer School for a year. He was employed by Harland Inc., a check printing company in Yorba Linda, Calif. for several years.

Troy enjoyed computers, reading and futuristic science, but his passion was chess. He played several times a month with chess friends or at libraries and community centers. He belonged to the LaHabra chess club and was a member of United States Chess Federation for over 25 years.

He is survived by his beloved mother Bonita Cravens of Fillmore survives him to cherish his memories; his father Gene Scoggan of Deltona, Fla.; his 89-year-old maternal grandmother Bertha Quintero of Milton, Wa.; two brothers; Curtis Scoggan of Indiana and Darren Scoggan of California; two sister-in-law's Nurcahya and Dawn; half-brother Brian Scoggan and sister-in-law Michelle of Indiana; great aunt Betty and uncle Vernon Genseke of Illinois; and 13 caring aunts and uncles; Lanny and Patricia Hawkinson, California, Felix Fred and Mary Ann Kobera, Michigan, Lori Hancock, Washington, Al and Marcia Chingman, Michigan, Michel and Linda LaCombe', Florida, Tom and Sandra Evans, Michigan, Sharon Harper, Iowa, and Diane Runge, Arizona; several nieces, nephews, first and second cousins and distant relatives.

A memorial to honor Troy's life is being planned by his loving family for Feb. 13th, 2011 at The Community Presbyterian Church of LaMirada in California.
