Joseph M. Joyce 80, of Roachdale died at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at 4:47 p.m. He was born on Dec. 9, 1930 at Cleveland, Ohio.

He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart and letter of commendation for bravery. He is a member of the American Legion Post #118 at Danville, V.F.W. at Roachdale, and Moose Lodge at Greencastle. He worked as a machinist for Link Belt/Rexnord in Indianapolis for 37 years before retiring in 1993. He enjoyed boating, camping, water skiing, hunting, bowling, and NASCAR.

He married Patricia Brown Wehrman in 1954 and was divorced in 1982 and she survives. Other survivors include four sons Steve Joyce of Roachdale, Joseph Joyce of Roachdale, David (Tia) Joyce of Darlington and Michael (Karla) Joyce of Waveland; two daughters Patricia J. (Kevin) Hollingsworth of Lebanon and Donna Joyce of Champaign, Ill.; a sister Linda Greene of Kentucky; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Joseph was preceded in death by his mother Mary Alberta Greene, his stepfather Vearnus Greene and Brother David Greene.

Services will be on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Servies & Morgan Funeral Home at 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale, Ind. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Roachdale Cemetery where Roachdale V.F.W. will conduct with military honors. Online condolence may be made at www.serviesmorgan.com
