GREENCASTLE -- First Baptist Church will recognize Joyce Braden from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 19 for her 37 years of service.

The open house will honor Braden for her 30 years of service to the First Baptist Preschool and her seven years to Kinder-Dance Preschool. She retired as director of the preschool after spending three decades serving children in the community. Under her direction, the preschool grew and serves 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds through pre-kindergarten.

Braden made the preschool a labor of love. She served hundreds of children with her loving spirit through the preschool ministry. She enjoyed watching the children grow and learn and truly cared about each child.

Throughout the years, Braden got to know many of the parents, grandparents and friends of the children. She has remarked that she has served generations of children, as many of the children she had in preschool grew up and brought their own children to the school.

Parents, grandparents, caregivers, former preschoolers and members of the community are invited to come to the open house to honor and thank Braden for her caring service to the children and families in the community.
