Arthur R. Mangus

Arthur R. Mangus, 83, of Paoli and formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011.

He was born on Aug. 21, 1927 in Putnam County to Hugh Mangus and Minnie Garret Mangus.

Mr. Mangus retired from Cash Concrete with 26 years of service.

On Aug. 30, 1950, he married Lola F. Standley and she survives. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Amber Taylor and husband, Joe of Orleans, and Dylan Zimmerman of Greencastle; four sisters, Irene Cole, Wilma Lowry, Mavis Cole and Melba Sanders; one brother, Melvin Mangus; three great-grandchildren, Josh, Bree and Madie Taylor; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Mangus and Dallas Mangus; a sister, Lucille Hunter and her husband Charles Ray; a nephew, Mike Mangus; and his son, Steven D. Mangus who died on May 16, 2008.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
