Clarence E. Cummins

Clarence E. Cummins, 94, Eminence, passed away on Feb. 28, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on April 20, 1916 in Rockcastle County, Ky. and was the son of the late Joe and Dora Belle (Stepp) Cummins.

He was married to Lena (Fisher) Cummins on Jan. 20, 1934 and she preceded him in death on March 14, 1995. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Betty Ann (Sloan) Cummins on Sept. 21, 2007.

He is survived by his children, Doris Wells, Riverside, Calif., Wanda Lewallen, Winter Haven, Fla., Floyd Cummins and wife Jean, Coatesville, Charles Cummins and wife Karla, Pensacola, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wives, he was also preceded in death by his sons, James Richard Cummins and Harold Everett Cummins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale, with Bro. A.J. Cox officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Stilesville Cemetery.
