Jeaneta Jeanne Jones, 84, Manassas Park, Va., formerly of Cloverdale, passed away on April 1, 2011 at her residence. She was born on August 9, 1926 in Greencastle and was the daughter of the late Charles Ray and Mary Eulalia (Hutcheson) Harper.
She was married to Raymond C. Jones, on Aug. 9, 1944 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church, Greencastle and the Busy Bee Club.
She and Raymond farmed their land and raised livestock south of Putnamville for more that 40 years. She loved to garden and raise flowers and was a 1944 graduate of Cloverdale High School.
She is survived by her son, Steven Jones, who is a retired Air Force officer and now resides and teaches in Manassas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lauren Zedek and husband Dan, Chapel Hill, N.C., Melanie Gregory and husband Joe, Manasses, Elena Cooper and husband Andrew, Nokesville, Va., and Jeffrey Jones and wife Colleen, Clifton, Va., her great-grandchildren, Caroline Marie Zedek, Madelyn Rose "Maddie" Jones, John Patrick "Jack" Gregory, Connor Francis Jones, Caleb Henry Zedek, Grace Rose Gregory, Callahan Ray Cooper and Lila Clare Jones.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynda Kaye Jones and her brother Thomas A. Harper.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Cloverdale Cemetery. A reception will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 110 South Indiana Street, Greencastle.
