James R. 'Jake' Shirar

James R. "Jake" Shirar, 67, of Roachdale died at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis on Monday, April 4, 2011.

He was born on Feb. 10, 1944 to Edgar and Margaret McDaniel May Shirar at Crawfordsville. He served in the Indiana National Guard for 15 years and was a self-employed truck driver for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family.

He married Linda Webb on April 2, 1973 in Roachdale and she survives. Other survivors include five sons, Jon (Lisa) Albright, Ray Keith Albright, Troy (Patsy) Shirar, Trent (Toni) Shirar, and Ken (Wendy) Albright; three daughters, Lavonda Albright, Rhonda (Larry) Morphew, and Robin (Tim) Pettice; three brothers, Robert (Donna) Shirar, Richard (Tana) Shirar, Phillip (Debbie) Shirar; sister Debbie Walden and several aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home on Saturday at 2 p.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Officiating pastor will be his brother Richard Shirar. Burial will be at Roachdale Cemetery following services. Online condolences may be made at www.serviesmorgan.com.
