Mrs. Mary Louise McKamey, 97, Greencastle, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Asbury Towers Healthcare Center.

Born Oct. 8, 1913 in Putnam County, the daughter of Otho and Nancy Mae (Terhune) Chadd and the adoptive daughter of Alva and Pearl (Grimes) Chadd. Mary Louise was a graduate of Greencastle High School class of 1932.

She married Lee E. McKamey on Nov. 4, 1939 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1992. Mary Louise and Lee had owned and operated Lee's Body Shop in Greencastle for 26 years. She later was the head cook at South Putnam High School for ten years, retiring in 1980.

She was a member of the former Maple Heights Methodist Church and its home extension club, Greencastle and various other home extension clubs. She had been a member of the Rebekka Lodge for over 60 years.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Margaret Claxton, Eva Mae Chadd, both of Greencastle, Hubert Chadd of Fillmore; Suzanne Schneider of Indianapolis, Darren (Cindy) Chadd of Clinton Falls, Bryan Chadd of Phoenix.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven brothers, Glen Allen, Monte, Fred, Cecil, Gilbert, Thomas, and Albert Chadd; half-sister Maxine Smith Buis and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
