LINTON -- The Cloverdale boys' golf team lost to Linton Thurday 151-179 Thursday.

Chris Arnold led the way for CHS with a 38. Colte Tomlinson shot a 45, Ryan Book a 46 ad Mike Matthews shot a 50. Sam Jordan carded a 51 and Zach Hall finished with a 55.

Cloverdale head coach Doug Wokoun said Linton played very well and is one of the better teams in the area. He said the Clovers will have to use the match as a measuring stick for its own improvement. He also said the team will have to regroup after Thursday's loss.

"Chris had a pretty good round, but otherwise we struggled. We did some good things but certainly not enough of them. We took a step back from our effort on Monday, and we need to regroup quickly for the Danville Invitational Saturday," Wokoun said.

Cloverdale golfer Aaron Whitlock won medalist honors for the junior varsity in his first high school match.

Cloverdale will play in the Danville Invite Saturday.
