Paugh sentenced to 35 years
A Cloverdale man was sentenced Thursday in Putnam Circuit Court to 35 years for child molesting.
Jonathan R. Paugh, 38, Cloverdale, pled guilty to seven felonies and one misdemeanor, which included two Class A felony counts of child molesting, Class B felony incest, two counts of Class C felony vicarious sexual gratification, Class D felony dissemination of matter harmful to minors and Class A misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Putnam Circuit Court Judge Matt Headley sentenced Paugh to 35 years, with 30 years executed.
"Mr. Paugh will serve 85 percent of his sentence since his victim at one point was under 12 years of age," Pros-ecutor Tim Book-walter said.
Court documents alleged Paugh had two victims, and that he molested them repeatedly over a seven-year span beginning in 2003. Some of the alleged acts occurred in Cloverdale, while others were reported to have taken place in Martinsville.
Paugh was arrested and charged in September, facing eight charges in Putnam County and 13 charges in Morgan County.
"He was also found to be a violent sexual offender under Indiana law, which means that when he is released from prison he will be on GPS monitoring for the rest of his life," Bookwalter said.
