Frances M. Runyan

Mrs. Frances M. Runyan, 92, of Greencastle, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Hickory Creek at Sunset.

Born Feb. 20, 1919 in Madison Township of Putnam County, she was the daughter of Rex and Belle (Skelton) Hathaway and a graduate of Greencastle High School Class of 1937. She married Ralph Runyan on May 16, 1942 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1976.

Frances had worked at Anne's Fashion Boutique, Prevo's Clothing store for 20 years, and previously at the Angwell Curtain factory for 27 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Gypsy (Butch) Hacker of Greencastle; two granddaughters, My (David) Gilley and Robin (Rob) McGaughey; and four great grandchildren, Erin and Emily Gilley, Jasmine and Cade McGaughey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Isabella Foxx Smith; and infant twin brother and sister, John Wayne and Rexanna Hathaway.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Brick Chapel Cemetery with burial to follow.

Friends may call at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
