Robert 'Bob' Keith Huber Sr.

Robert "Bob" Keith Huber, Sr., 84, Fillmore, passed away on April 28, 2011 at The Waters at Greencastle. He was born on Sept. 15, 1926 at Greencastle and was the son of the late William L. and Inez F. (Smith) Huber.

He was a member of the New Providence Baptist Church where he served as Trustee and was baptized in 1937 at the Greencastle Baptist Church. He retired from IBM at Greencastle where he was the Purchasing Agent. He also had been a school bus driver for the Fillmore Schools and a dairy farmer.

Bob enjoyed sharing his extensive collection of Billy Vaughn and Herb Alpert. He never missed any opportunity to spend time with his family. Some of his favorite activities were playing horseshoes, square dancing, wood-working and family wiener roasts. Bob enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime train tour through the Canadian Mountains to view the autumn foliage.

He married Urie M. Yeager Huber on Feb. 20, 1947 and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Peggy Buckles and husband Joseph, Terre Haute, Robert K. Huber, Jr. and wife Connie, Greencastle and Chris Huber and wife Amy, Indianapolis, his sister, Donna Jean Ross, Summerville, S.C., nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother William Max Huber.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the New Providence Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Interment will be in the New Providence Cemetery.
