CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The Greencastle boys' golf team narrowly defeated Crawfordsville 160-164, with North Putnam placing third with 205.

Luke Brotherton led the way with a 38, with Brad Haussin adding a 39 and Jim Wheeler a 40. Alec Davis shot a 43 and Raymond Stinson shot a 45 and Tyler Hopkins a 52.

"Good competitive match with Crawfordsville and Greencastle," GHS head coach Steve Paquin said. "North Putnam struggled with course conditions and wind. Luke had a good solid round along with Brad and Jim.

"Alec had one bad hole with a lost ball. Weather conditions were better tonight, but the course was very wet that led to difficult shot making. Good night overall," he added.

Junior varsity scores for Greencastle were Derik Thomas with a 42, Tanner Dean a 44 and Joe Kaiser with a 54.

On Monday, the Greencastle boys' golf team defeated Danville 155-176 at home.

Wheeler led the Tiger Cubs with a medalist round of 37, with Haussin and Hopkins adding scores of 39. Davis and Stinson both shot 40 and Brotherton carded a 41. Dean shot 44, Thomas a 46 and Kaiser a 54.

"Excellent scores on a cold rainy day," head coach Steve Paquin said. "We played very consistent golf under adverse weather conditions. Jim had a very good round of 37, followed by Brad , Tyler, Alec and Raymond. We are learning to adapt to playing in the cold and rain without it affecting our scores."
