ISP memorial service set Tuesday

Saturday, May 7, 2011

PUTNAMVILLE -- The Indiana State Police Post at Putnamville will conduct its annual memorial service Tuesday, May 10 to recognize State Police personnel who have lost their lives in service to the citizens of Indiana.

The memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. outdoors at the front of the post on U.S. 40. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held inside in the training room.

The service will last about 30 minutes. It will be the first memorial service since the merger of the former Terre Haute District into the current Putnamville District.

All ISP retirees and the general public are welcome.

Since the inception of the Indiana State Police in 1933, 46 members of the department have died in the line of duty. A complete listing of deceased personnel and circumstances of their death may be viewed at: in.gov/isp/memoriam.
