Dorothy Vivian Von Tress

Dorothy Vivian Von Tress, 92, of Savannah, Tenn. and formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011.

Mrs. Von Tress was born on May 13, 1919 in Owen County to Cassa Ruble and Melissa Alice Price Ruble.

She was a graduate of Patricksburg High School and attended First Baptist Church in Greencastle.

Mrs. Von Tress was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Herbert L. "Bo" Von Tress and siblings, Win Ruble, Rich Ruble, Ted Ruble, Bill Ruble, Dennis Ruble, Jim Ruble and Gertrude Biddle.

Surviving are her children, Rita Roberts of Orlando, Fla. and Donald L. Von Tress and wife Jeanne E. of Cypress Inn, Tenn.; grandchildren, Alesia Keller and husband Eric of Orlando, Victoria Kimber and husband Shannon of Denver, Colo., Sonora Spivey and husband Wil of Panama City Beach, Fla. and Cassabianca Von Tress and wife Lauralee of Florence, Ala.; and four great-granddaughters, Cara Keller, Vivian Evans Spivey, Betty Spivey and Alice Von Tress.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Rev. David L. Culley officiating. Interment will follow at Boone - Hutcheson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from noon until time of services at the funeral home.
