Residents reminded of reassessment

Saturday, May 21, 2011

Putnam County Assessor Nancy Dennis would like to remind all Putnam County residents that reassessment is ongoing in the county this year.

Some homeowners have had questions about the individuals coming onto their property to perform the reassessment, but Dennis assured residents the men need to be there as part of the process. Addition-ally, taking measurements of houses is part of the process.

The men representing the assessor's office all have signs in their car windows indicating they are doing reassessment. They should also wear a badge around their neck and leave a card on the door indicating who they are and the office they represent.

"We wanted to make sure nobody had any misunderstanding about the name of the person on their property," Dennis said.

Madison, Greencas-tle, Warren, Cloverdale and Jefferson townships all still need to be completed in the reassessment process. The City of Greencastle, Town of Bainbridge and the Heritage Lake area also need to be completed.

Anyone with questions about the reassessment process may contact the assessor's office at 653-0206.

  • This will end up a fiasco. Thanks for sharing after it's over.
