Irene A. Delp, 103, Marshall, passed away May 20, 2011 in Union Hospital, Clinton.

She was born March 31, 1908 in Jackson Township, Fountain County to Timothy M. and Abbie Wilkinson Alward. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1926.

Irene married Robert O. Delp on Sept. 12, 1938, and he passed away on Nov. 6, 1986.

She worked as the head waitress at Turkey Run Inn in the late 1930s and early 1940s. She was the lead cook at Turkey Run High School from 1958 to 1962 and owned and operated the County Kitchen in Grange Corner from 1963-1975.

Irene was a member of Marshall Federated Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Delores A. Soyack of Marshall and Deborah S. Winger and husband Rodger of Coatesville; three grandchildren, Dale A. Winger and wife Nicholle, Amanda J. Winger and Ashley N. Riggs-Zeigen; and three great-grandchildren, Jenna R. Winger, Hallie G. Winger and Luke T. Winger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ira, Claude, Eugene and an unnamed infant; three sisters, Myrtle Davis, Grace Newnum and Maudie; a half sister, Emma Hutchinson; and two half brothers, Otis and Joe.

Service will be at noon Tuesday at Marshall Federated Church with the Rev. Don Perry officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of service. She will be buried in Poplar Grove Cemetery, Marshall.
