Dave's celebrates 25 years with award

Dave's Heating and Cooling was recently awarded Dealer of the Year by Koch Air, LLC, a Carrier distributor.

The reception was also a celebration of the business's 25th anniversary. Dave Corbin and Dave Cox started the business a quarter century ago with one box filled with $1,000 worth of parts.

"We were kind of scared, but thought, you've got to do it sometime," Corbin said.

Cox has since passed away, but Corbin continues with six employees.

"I enjoy working with all the people," Corbin said. "I've got a great group of people working with me.

"I don't really consider them employees -- we're just a group of friends working together."

Michael Oisten of Koch Air presented Corbin with the award. He said Dave's experienced a large growth in sales in 2010, but this wasn't the only reason for the award.

"It's one of the few places I come that everybody actually cares," Oisten said.
