Emergency personnel investigate a three-vehicle accident involving a Greencastle school bus Tuesday afternoon. There were no injuries reported in the accident.

A Tuesday afternoon three-vehicle accident involving a Greencastle school bus resulted in no injuries, but left extensive damage to two of the three vehicles.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., the bus driven by Janet James of Greencastle stopped to drop off children just east of Linwood Drive. Cameron Lancaster, 18, Greencastle, was following in a Jeep Cherokee and safely made the stop.

James Lind, 79, Greencastle, did not make the stop in his Chevrolet Equinox, rear-ending Lancaster's vehicle and pushing it into the back of the bus.

No injuries were reported in the accident, including the approximately 60 children on the bus. Greencastle Schools Transportation Supervisor Dan Green reported all the children were transferred to another bus and transported home.

Greencastle Police Officer Ed Wilson said Lind was being evaluated for any sort of illness that may have led to the crash. GPD is investigating his possible involvement in some incidents involving a similar vehicle from earlier on Tuesday.

GPD and Putnam County Sheriff's Department personnel assisted with diverting and directing traffic. The Greencastle Fire Department and Operation Life assisted with cleanup and medical evaluation.
