Lewis Augustus Saucerman, 78, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at his residence following a battle with lung cancer. He was born in Sullivan County on Oct. 22, 1932 the son of Kressie Ray and Eva Pink Thrasher Saucerman. He worked for the Allison Division of GM for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Survivors include his wife Peggy Rinker Saucerman; daughters Melissa "Lisa" Griswold and husband Larry, Coatesville and Linda Lee Knoy and husband Dean, Cloverdale; grandchildren, Brandi (Jessie) McKinney, Page Gris-wold, Angela Knoy (fiance' Kyle Wilson), and Lewie Knoy; great-grandson Lathen McKinney; brothers Wayne (Lois) Saucerman, Monrovia, and Jerry (Violet) Saucer-man, Quincy; sister-in-law Sue Saucerman; and brother-in-law Cletus Flath.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dean, Robert and Billie Jo; and sister Lorene Flath.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Hays Funeral Home, Coate-sville with Rev. Larry Rempke officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in New Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
