He was born Oct. 9, 1935 in Newport to Howrie Work-man and Dorothy Foist Workman.
Mr. Workman served his country in the U.S. Army from August 1957 until August 1962.
He retired from Mechanics Laundry and had worked at Putnam County Hospital.
Mr. Workman was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mildred Workman; his parents and two brothers, Herman Workman and his twin brother Donald Workman.
Surviving are his children, Kim Burney and boyfriend Chuck, Sheila Holloway and husband Scott and Mark Workman and wife Kristi; sister Joann Russell; brother Richard Workman; grandchildren Sabrina Weddell, Stephanie Gillihan, Derek White, Sarah Holloway, Trenton Workman, Devon Workman and Savanna Workman; great-grandchildren Kaden Weddell, Kaleb Weddell and Cole Waggon-er; and his beloved dog Sassy.
His interests included golfing, bowling and watching sports, especially IU basketball. He was a true fan of IU.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Trout officiating. Interment with honors will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
