Avis Plummer, 93, Rockville, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 in the Waters of Clinton. She was a homemaker.

She was born Aug. 10, 1917 in Jefferson Township, Putnam County to the late John William Cooper and Pearl Clearwaters Cooper.

Her husband of 54 years, Russel Plummer, whom she married January 12, 1936 in Marshall, Ill., died Nov. 16, 1990.

She was a 1935 graduate of Belle Union High School. She was an active member of the Rockville First United Methodist Church and an associate of Gamma Sigma Chapter of Rockville Tri-Kappa sorority.

Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Weatherman and her husband Phil Weatherman of Rockville; son-in-law John Hudson of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren, Rusty (Jeannie) Hudson of Salem, Ronda (Darrell) Peetz of Greensburg, Ross (Kara) Weatherman of West Lafayette and Krista Weatherman of Indianapolis; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Hudson of Salem, Stephanie (Steven) Westerfeld of Batesville and Will Weatherman of West Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta Sue Hudson on Aug. 16, 2008.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gooch Funeral Home, Rockville, with Pastor Ed Fisher officiating. Burial will follow services in Memory Garden Cemetery at Rockville. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. on Monday at Gooch Funeral Home.
