He was born on Sept. 16, 1949 in Williamsport, the son of Stanley R. and Violet L. Long Dalbey. He was a 1968 graduate of Crawfordsville High School.
Steven married Linda Cain on April 26, 1969 in Crawfordsville, and she survives.
Steven retired after 40 years as a meat inspector for the Indiana Board of Health and was owner of Morton Hook & Sinker Country Score. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Trap Shooters Association, the Indiana Ropers and Doggers Association and the NRA.
Additional survivors include his daughter Michelle (Colby) Montgomery of Waldorf, Md., sisters Donna Crowder and Lenora Kilgore of Crawfordsville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sister Della Jean Surber.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with Rev. Mike Sabens officiating. Burial will be in Darlington IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
