Mary Helen DeLaCruz, 86, Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove.
She was born on Oct. 22, 1924 in Owen County and was the daughter of the late Ross Myrl and Mary Catherine (Pullen) Paris.
She was married to Pedro DeLaCruz Jr. on June 19, 1965 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2001.
She was a secretary for St. Vincent Hospital and Dr. Frank Rabb.
She was the beloved mother and matriarch of Mary Overstreet and husband Walter of Franklin, Patricia Browning of Indianapolis, James Lee Durham and wife Donna of Lake Hauasu, Ariz. and John Meryl Durham and wife Pamela of Greenwood; sister of Rose Hegeman of Rensselaer, Florence M. "Shug" Cook of Brazil and Ralph M. Paris of Greencastle; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her daughter JoAnn Skelton, her grandson Sonny Overstreet, her sister Kathryn Paris and her brothers Clyde Lee Paris, Robert K. Paris, Norman Kester and Ross M. "Junior" Paris Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 2 to the time of service. Interment will be in the Mannan Cemetery.
