Remembering a Hero

Saturday, July 9, 2011

The American flag flew at half-staff Friday at the Owen Community Bank in Cloverdale in honor of fallen Cloverdale soldier SPC.E-4 James A. Waters, the 21-year-old son of Garry and Valerie Waters. Cloverdale officials have asked that flags in their town to be lowered to half-staff on Saturday in his honor. The soldier's body was returned to Indiana from Dover (Del.) Air Force Base Friday afternoon with a hearse-led procession taking it from the Indianapolis Airport to Jessen Funeral Home in Whiteland. Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Whiteland High School.

I would hope that all the flags in Putnam County are lowered as well.

It's pretty sad that Cloverdale officials asked everyone to lower their flag and they couldn't even do it themselves at the town hall.

Why couldn't the photo had more flag and less Bank sign (especially the printed newspaper)?
