Air flight raffle tickets go on sale

Monday, July 11, 2011

The Putnam County Airport Appreciation Days (PCAAD) Group has announced that raffle tickets will go on sale to help raise funds for the Putnam County Airport's annual Appreciation Days event.

The raffle tickets will cost $5 each or three for $10. This year's event will be greatly expanded, with many more activities planned for the entire family.

There are a limited number of tickets available. Just 500 tickets will be offered for sale and once these 500 tickets have been sold, there will be no more.

Tickets will go on sale beginning Monday, July 11. Tickets will be available at Curves, Dixie Chopper Business Center, Humphrey's Outdoor Power Equipment, Wabash Capital and Treasurers on the Square.

The winning ticket will be drawn during intermission at this year's Radio Show on Saturday, Sept. 10. The winner does not need to be present.

The winner will receive two hours of ground school, followed by one hour of flight instruction with a certified flight instructor (CFI).

The prize will also include the rental of the plane and fuel. The prize is being underwritten by Dixie Chopper Air. No prior flight experience is needed; however, it should be noted that the prize can be used by those pilots needing their check ride formally referred to as a biennial flight review (BFR).
