Sharing July 4 breakfast fellowship, appreciation

Friday, July 15, 2011

To the Editor:

There is something absolutely wonderful about having breakfast with your community, gathering together, sharing laughter, good conversation all for the support and celebration of our city parks and People Pathways. On behalf of the Greencastle Friends of the Park Association, we would like to thank the many families that attended our Fourth of July, community breakfast, "Pancakes for Parks and Pathways.

Good coffee, great sausage and fluffy flapjacks could not have been possible without the generous contributions of our sponsors and volunteers: Inn at DePauw, Sysco, McFarling Foods, Aldi, McDonald's, Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, Adam Cohen, Putnam County Comprehensive Services, Walmart, Hannum, Wagle, & Cline Engineering, Garmong Construction Services and Culligan.

The celebrities flipping flapjacks: Chris Shuck, Bill Marley, Darrel Thomas and Rita Schendel. Our wonderful volunteers: Friends of the Park Association members, Pathway Partners, Greencastle Park and Recreation staff, Director of Sales Michele Faison and Food and Beverage Manager Karen Weaver from the Inn at DePauw.

The Greencastle Friends of the Park Association continues to work at providing wonderful opportunities for recreation in our community and enhancing the health, recreation and physical education of children and families in Putnam County.

We are proud to have been active participants of Celebrate 4 and many other programs of Putnam County and the city of Greencastle.
