BRAZIL -- The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, will perform a double-header this weekend, July 16 and 17.

On Saturday, the BCB will perform at 4 p.m. at the Banks of the Wabash Band Festival in Fairbanks Park, Terre Haute.

Community bands from both Indiana and Illinois will perform at the event, which begins at 2 pm.

On Sunday, the BCB will be back in Brazil at Forest Park, rain or shine, with "A Midsummer's Offering" with works from Europe to Broadway.

From the pen of Jacques Offenbach, the BCB will perform "Offenbach," a medley of the 19th-century French composer's best-known songs.

The musical of the week is "Guys and Dolls" by Loesser and arranged by Custer.

The mysterious "Princess of India," a longtime Karl King favorite of the BCB crowd, is also slated.

A medley of songs familiar to Civil War soldiers will be heard in "Songs of Old Kentucky" by Karrick.

From the movies, the BCB will present "Mancini Magic" by Brubaker and "Pirates of the Caribbean" by Badelt and Ricketts.

Marches of the week will be divided between the Fairbanks gig and Forest Park with: "Supreme Triumph" and "Shrine of Liberty" by Jewell, "Gifted Leadership" and "Noble Men" by Fillmore, "El Capitan" and "The Stars and Stripes Forever" by Sousa and the cleverly crafted "Instant Concert" by Harold Walters.
