Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Aisa Terry
Putnam County was entertained Sunday evening as many of its local performers hit the stage at the Putnam County Talent Show. With performances such as Carrie Underwood's "Temporary Home," the James Bond Theme Song and "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music, it was definitely an evening the audience will remember.

The On the Flipside Junior novelty is composed of Lucy Butler, Savannah Edwards, Hallie Miller, Megan Manning, Rainey Burge, Gayle Baugh, Kylee McCullough, Emma Mannion, Kelsey Carrington, Macy Clark, Maddie Renihan and Lindsey Hood.
Of the 11 entries, many of the participants walked away with first place ribbons. Placing first in the Petite Dance Group was On the Flipside Petite Dance. Placing first in the Junior Novelty Dance Group was On the Flipside Junior Novelty Group. Placing first in the Senior Tumbling Group was On the Flipside Tumbling Group. Braelyn Patty danced her way to first place in the Junior Solo Dance, while Aisa Terry took first in the Senior Solo Dance.

In the instrumental category, Amber Beams played a flute solo to win the Senior Instrumental and Noah Cox and his saxophone took first in the Junior Instrumental.

Jodi Buis
In the vocal category, Jodi Buis took first place with Julie Cox in second in the Senior Vocal Solo. Vanessa Short took first in the Adult Vocal Solo. Then in the Senior Vocal Group, local band Translucent Vertigo, with members Jacob Girton, Trent Workman, Lucas Eckrich and Taulbee Jackson, rocked its way to first place.

To finish off the evening, the top four overall winners were chosen for trophies and cash. Placing fourth overall and for $25 was Translucent Vertigo. Placing third and winning $50 was Buis. Second was On the Flipside Junior Novelty Group winning $75. And last, but definitely not least, Terry took first place winning $100.

Terry and On the Flipside Junior Novelty Group also qualified to go on to the State Fair.
