Norma R. (Hurst) Edwards, 82, of Terre Haute and formerly of Brazil, passed away at home July 20, 2011.

She was born May 9, 1929, in Indianapolis the daughter of Selba and Lillian (Folse) Hurst. Norma married Edd E. Edwards May 9, 1953; he preceded her in death in 1982. Throughout the years Norma had worked as a beautician, at the Banner Graphic in Cloverdale and Greencastle, and Operation Life in Greencastle.

When her daughters Valda and Terri entered high school Norma bravely returned to class with her daughters later to earn her high school diploma in 1971. Norma worked as a dispatcher, EMT and Assistant Director for Athens Ambulance until she retired.

In her free time Norma enjoyed playing bingo and euchre and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Selba and Lillian Hurst; husband Edd; daughters Rhea and Darcy.

She is survived by her daughters: Valda Stone (Steve) of Terre Haute, Terri White (Casey) of Coal City and Michele Musick of Sebring, FL; grandchildren: Paula O'Brien (Pat), Brian Hemmerling (Amanda Lytle), Ashley Stone (Greg DePersio), Courtney Stone (Tom Woodard), Josh Wright, Caleb Musick, Stephanie Stone, and Joey Musick and 10 great-grandchildren; half brothers: Wayne Hurst and Rick Hurst; special friends Sandy Moore, Dennis Rose, Dr. Karla Zody, and Tim and Paula Wilson as well as many friends and extended family members.

Friends are welcome to join her family at Lawson -- Miller Chapel, Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 4-8pm to celebrate her life. At her request she will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at Maple Hill Cemetery, in Plainfield, beside her husband and daughters.
