Demolition by the slice

Thursday, July 28, 2011
A small old rental house on the west side of Bloomington Street, immediately south of Pizza King, was quickly turned into a pile of rubble Wednesday morning. A crew from Joe Spiker Construction and Excavating, Greencastle, knocked down the frame home and deposited the pieces into a waiting dump truck for a trip to the landfill. The structure, recently purchased by Pizza King owners Howard and Cheryl Thomas, was razed to make room for additional parking for the restaurant at 400 Bloomington St.

  • A positive improvement for the Pizza King - more parking!

  • It's definitely a start, for sure.

There are several dumpy, abandoned properties in town that could use the same fate.
