BRAZIL -- The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew S. Huber, will present "On the March in Forest Park" at 8 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine.

The play list features seldom-heard yet outstanding marches such as "Hail to the Spirit of Liberty" and "Golden Jubilee" both by Sousa, Jewell's "Trooping of the Colors", the very British-sounding "Imperial Echoes" by Safroni and Fillmore's "Men of Florida."

A waltz by Karl King, "In Old Portugal," and "Fillmore's immortal "Lassus Trombone" are old favorites sure to please the crowd.

The ever-wacky "Salute to Spike Jones" arranged by Calvin Custer displays Jones' genius musical humor while "A Tribute to Louis Armstrong" brings Satchmo's delightful melodies up from New Orleans.

The BCB's summer-long observance of the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War this week centers on George A. Custer who served with distinction during the War Between the States and died 11 years later at the Little Big Horn, along with his entire company of cavalry, in 1876.

Composer Lee Johnson's "The Death of Custer" was written for the 25th anniversary of the event and features buglers and war whoops in a musical battle first presented to the BCB audience 110 years ago.

Finally, for the audience and musicians, Arthur Pryor's original hit "The Whistler and His Dog."
