Day of Caring Breakfast, event needs more projects

Saturday, August 6, 2011

The United Way of Putnam County is in need of more projects for its annual Day of Caring. United Way helps with such projects as sorting food in food pantries and helping elderly and disabled confined to their home, to landscape and building projects. Some specific projects are cleaning up trails around People's Pathway and repairing damage to shelters and buildings at Hope Haven.

If you have a service project you feel would be good to take on during the Day of Caring, feel free to contact United Way of Putnam County Executive Director David English at 653-5638. All ideas are welcome.

United Way would also like to remind people of their upcoming kick-off breakfast. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the breakfast following at 8 a.m.

The cost is $20 per person or $130 per table. This year's speaker is Bob Hammel. The Day of Caring kick-off will then be at 9 a.m.

For any questions or more information regarding, the Day of Caring, the breakfast or United Way, feel free to contact English.
